How-To: Set Up a Host in Gmail

Platform: UnsubCentral (USC)

Feature: Google Workspace Routing Permissions

Steps to Follow

Add New Host

1. Within the Apps section, select Gmail from the Google Workspace menu.

2. Next, in the Settings section, find the Hosts options and Expand Host setting to create a new host to relay to.

Add Route

3. Click on Add Route and type in the name of your new host. In this instance, we have used UnsubCentral.

4. Specify the email server by typing email.compliance.unsubcentral.com which you'll be connecting to on Port 25.

5. Select the following 3 checkboxes to use the Recommended settings:

  • Require email to be transmitted via secure (TLS) connection (Recommended)

  • Require CA signed certificate (Recommended)

  • Validate certificate hostname (Recommended)

6. Click on Save to save the host settings.

Test TLS Connection

7. Lastly, click on the Test TLS connection to test the connection. A message will confirm if the connection was established successfully.

In order to Test the connection the client must be set-up with UnsubCentral so that connection will be allowed to email.compliance.unsubcentral.com using TLS.
